We provide full-service landscape architecture for residential, multi-family, commercial, civic, and environmentally sensitive sites across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our process is rigorous and unhurried — we take on projects where deep thinking matters, where the land deserves more than a surface-level response.

The Process · Five Phases

From concept to completion.

  1. Schematic Design

    We begin by listening — to you, to the site, to the ecological context. Site analysis, program development, and preliminary design concepts are developed together to establish direction before any commitment to details.

  2. Design Development

    The preferred direction is refined into a fully resolved design — materials selected, grading confirmed, planting strategies developed, structural elements detailed. Every decision tested against the original design intent.

  3. Construction Documentation

    Complete drawing and specification packages suitable for permit submission and contractor tender. Our documents are precise, coordinated, and buildable — they leave nothing to interpretation that should not be left to interpretation.

  4. Tender Administration

    We manage the contractor selection process — issuing the tender package, responding to bidder questions, evaluating submissions, and providing a recommendation. The right contractor makes an enormous difference.

  5. Construction Administration

    Site visits, shop drawing reviews, field instructions, and ongoing communication with the contractor to ensure design intent is realized. We are present when the work happens, because that is when the design lives or dies.

Design Oversight & Project Coordination

Many of our most successful projects are built on deep collaboration — with architects, builders, interior designers, engineers, and developers. We act as the landscape anchor within a larger design team, ensuring the outdoor environment is considered with the same rigour as the building it surrounds.

We're comfortable leading multi-disciplinary processes and equally comfortable in a supporting role. What matters is that the landscape is designed well.
